Nurse Educator — Maine Behavioral Healthcare
Vanessa White is a nurse educator for Maine Behavioral Healthcare in the Training and Development Center at Spring Harbor Hospital. Vanessa assists in the orientation and continuing education of clinical staff at Spring Harbor Hospital and Maine Behavioral Healthcare's residential sites and crisis stabilization units. Vanessa is a certified Safety Care Instructor and a Certified Residential Medication Aide Instructor. Vanessa serves as a resource for clinical issues within the hospital and community residential sites. Vanessa actively participates in the development and implementation of training courses including online education courses at Maine Behavioral Healthcare.
Vanessa leads the preceptor support committee for nurses at Spring Harbor Hospital. She is passionate about mentoring staff members and facilitating a supportive work environment. Vanessa also leads the Emergency Medical Management committee and works in the infection control and prevention department for Spring Harbor Hospital.
Vanessa graduated from the University of New England in 2009 with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, beginning her nursing career working in Rehabilitation and Long Term Care while continuing her education. Vanessa graduated from University of New England in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and began working as a psychiatric nurse in child and adolescent psychiatry at Spring Harbor Hospital.
Vanessa is a Maine native, currently residing in South Portland, Maine. She enjoys spending her time with her family, including her two young children, exploring the outdoors, baking, and traveling.
