Associate Professor and Department Chair, Southern Maine Community College
Michael Nozdrovicky, DNP,RN, NP, ANE-BC, is currently an associate professor and department chair at Southern Maine Community College. He was adjunct faculty at NYU School of Medicine and NYU College of Nursing before moving to Maine in 2013. He was a clinical director at RUSK Rehabilitation Institute of Medicine and Obstetrics at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York. He served as the vice president for patient care services and chief nursing officer of Cabrini Medical Center, and North General Hospital, New York. Dr. Nozdrovicky has worked in academic medical centers throughout the New York area, including Mount Sinai Medical Center in Critical Care and Medicine. He served on several board positions of New York City AACN including president of AACN from 2001-2004.
He is most proud of his national recognition as the winner of the first “Nursing Spectrum’s Nurse of the Year Award” for the New York and New Jersey region in 1999.
He received his Associates RN degree from Helene Fuld College of Nursing (1990), a Bachelor of Science degree from Pace University (1997), a Masters degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, from New York University (2002). Dr. Nozdrovicky was awarded a Post Masters Certificate in Nursing Administration (2003) at Villanova and completed his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Case Western University in 2006. His thesis, which focused on the Perception of Nurse Practitioner Level of Empowerment in an Acute Care Setting was published in the American Journal of Nurse Practitioners.
