Nursing Director for the Birthing and Family Care Center, York Hospital
Melody Narramore is the Nursing Director for the Birthing and Family Care Center at York Hospital. With a background in nursing leadership and professional practice as well as perinatal and community health nursing, Melody is integral in the continued process improvement, education and development of nursing at York Hospital. Prior to relocating to New England, Melody spent over two decades developing her nursing career in the Southwest. She began as a labor and delivery nurse, and ultimately progressed into roles as a nurse educator in secondary education settings, healthcare institutions, as well as experiences in clinical coordination.
While Melody’s passion is in health care learning and development, her career has come full circle with her latest role as Director of Birthing and Family Care. Melody continues to be active in the nursing professional practice arena, as a member of ANA, OMNE, AWHONN and Nursing Professional Development. Her certification is in Nursing Professional Development and she holds a Fundamentals of Magnet certificate.
Melody completed her undergraduate studies at Arizona State University receiving her BSN, and graduate-level education with Walden University, earning her MSN with an emphasis in education. Melody’s priorities as a leader in nursing are continuing to seek opportunities for improvement for the patient experience, to find new avenues for nurse advocacy, and to foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration within her team and organization.
