Maria C. Dolce, PhD, RN, CNE


Associate Professor, Associate Professor at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth College of Nursing and Health Sciences

Dr. Dolce was the architect of the Nurse Practitioner-Dentist Model for Primary Care, an interprofessional value-based health care model integrating primary care and oral health services, at the Harvard Dental Center Teaching Practices. She serves as healthcare consultant for Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Center for Integrating Primary Care and Oral Health and National Center for Equitable Care for Elders. Dr. Dolce was the former Program Director for Oral Health Nursing Education and Practice at New York University and Innovations in Oral Health at Northeastern University. Her research areas of interests include improving oral-systemic health for vulnerable and underserved populations, value-based health systems, and integrated health care. Dr. Dolce is internationally recognized for her expertise in interprofessional practice and education. She serves as a steering committee member for Smiles for Life: A National Oral Health Curriculum. Dr. Dolce earned her BS, MA, and PhD degrees from New York University; and is recognized as a Certified Nurse Educator by the National League for Nursing.
