Joshua Little, RN, Charge Nurse, Maine Veterans’ Home - Scarborough

Home Health Nurse, Northern Light Home Care

Josh Little is a home care nurse for Northern Lights. Josh has an extensive history in geriatric care. Starting in 2007, he worked as a nurse’s aide with the Maine Veterans' Home and followed his passion for nursing through his secondary education, eventually becoming a nurse, nurse supervisor and finally a charge nurse. Josh’s primary experience has been in memory care with a few years spent in rehabilitation.

Josh completed the nurse preceptor program in 2017 and has since worked extensively with new nurses as well as with nursing students from SMCC. It was for his passion in nursing and love of working with new nurses that Josh was recommended to our advisory committee by a former member.

Josh graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in vertebrate biology with a minor in jazz studies. After deciding to dedicate himself to nursing, Josh attended the University of Southern Maine to earn his bachelor’s degree in nursing. Josh recently completed his geriatric nursing certification.

When not wearing scrubs, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and two ‘children’; his dogs, Lucy and Winnie. He continues to pursue his love of music and has recently taken up woodworking in his spare time.
