Charge Nurse, Maine Veterans’ Home — Scarborough
Josh Little is a charge nurse for the Maine Veterans' Home in Scarborough. Josh has an extensive history in long term care. Starting in 2007, he worked as a nurse’s aide with the Veterans' Home and followed his passion for nursing through his secondary education, eventually becoming a nurse, nurse supervisor and finally a charge nurse. Josh’s primary experience has been in memory care with a few years spent in rehabilitation.
Josh completed the nurse preceptor program in 2017 and has since worked extensively with new nurses to his facility, as well as with nursing students from SMCC. It was for his passion in nursing and love of working with new nurses that Josh was recommended to our advisory committee by a former member.
Josh graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in vertebrate biology with a minor in jazz studies. After deciding to dedicate himself to nursing, Josh attended the University of Southern Maine to earn his bachelor’s degree in nursing. Josh is currently working toward getting his certification in geriatric nursing.
When not wearing scrubs, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and two ‘children’; his dogs, Lucy and Mollie. He continues to pursue his love of music and has recently taken up woodworking in his spare time.
