Associate Professor, Clinical Coordinator, University of New England
Joseph F. Carter, RN, MSN, MDiv received his BSN and MSN from the University of Southern Maine. He received his Master of Divinity from The Catholic University of America. His nursing practice has focused in the areas of Adult Health, Nursing Management, Spirituality and Health Care, End of Life and Hospice Care. He currently is an associate clinical professor at the University of New England. He joined UNE in 2004, and in 2006 became the Clinical Coordinator. In addition to his faculty role, as the clinical coordinator he oversees all clinical rotations and preceptorship placements for students in the nursing program at the university.
He maintains his clinical practice at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. He is a Maine native and currently resides in Portland. In his spare time, he enjoys music, reading and traveling.
